Distal Limb Perfusion

Case History

  • Yearling Warmblood filly presented at the University of Minnesota April 24th for degloving injury to RH metatarsus.

  • Initial CT performed at intake on 4/24/23 for wound to the right hind limb.

  • Wound was found that morning and owner believes occurred sometime in the 24 hours prior.

  • On presentation, horse was knuckling on RH, but able to bear weight when foot was placed for her.

  • Edema and sensitivity to palpation around wound, metatarsus, and hock region.

  • Wound on dorsal aspect of RH metatarsus.

  • Since then, coronary band edematous and no sensitivity distal to limb.

  • Contrast CT performed to attempt to evaluate for perfusion to distal limb
